Did he sound like this when he was still tapping his foot impatiently, trying to find a way to pin down Armand, scream at him for an hour (a week)? He hopes not. Or, on second thought, maybe this is how he should have sounded. How he should sound, now. Not lost on him, the fact that he and Louis don't spend more time together in person. Maybe Daniel would be more trustworthy if he wasn't so tolerant of the creature that fried Claudia.

Not his fault he shares a pulse with the guy. Louis could have stayed, for ten minutes. Louis could have made Armand leave first. He could have—

No, he couldn't have. Look at Will, look at Lestat, even look at Armand. A type. Daniel is an outlier; to this day, he doesn't believe Louis ever wanted to turn him. Just a sad thing he says, now, to incubate the familiar comfort of guilt.

"Yes," he answers, about the cannibal shrink. "I don't really care, because I eat people too and it'd be, you know, really hypocritical and weird. But yeah, I know way more about him than he'd like me to, including his itinerary. I'm going to ransom it, though. You're going to have to tell me how you're doing if you want anything out of me. And rethink that thought, you know which one."

Relax, man.
